Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking to add an exceptional Acute-Care Advanced Practice Provider to their growing Critical Care team as a nocturnist. Acute-Care Advanced Practice Providers with a passion for excellence in patient care, equally competent clinical skills, and are team oriented should apply.

Education, Training, & Experience

  • 3-5 years’ experience with NP/PA License Required
  • Board Certification via AANP or AANC required for Nurse Practitioners
  • Board Certification via NCCPA required for Physician Assistants
  • Acute Care Certification REQUIRED for Nurse Practitioners
  • ACLS required; ATLS & FCCS Certification highly preferred
  • Proficiency in applying advanced concepts, principles and advanced clinical techniques in an Acute Care environment. A diverse background with prior experience working in a designate trauma facility and/or acute/critical care setting.  eICU experience a plus also.

Critical Care Overview

  • Join a group of 10 physicians and 10 advanced practitioners that cover in two locations: Gainesville and Braselton.
  • 3 12-hr shifts; Candidate must be able to cover nights with the possibility of days.
  • Collaboratively functions as an Acute Care Advanced Practitioner in a MICU, CCU and STICU – with the potential to provide coverage at Braselton Hospital – along with double and triple boarded Intensivists and other clinical staff by providing leadership and incorporating the role of clinical expert, role model, consultant, educator and practitioner, in conjunction with providing clinical expertise to patients, families, colleagues and other clinical staff via direct or indirect patient care. AP also collaborates with Acute Care Team by conducting comprehensive health assessments, to manage acute, chronic, complex and co morbidity illnesses/patients by assessing, evaluating, developing and implementing high quality patient care plans.
  • AP will perform complex procedures including, but not limited to: Insertion of Central Lines, Arterial Lines, Arterial Catheters, Pulmonary Artery Catheters/Central Venous Catheters, Dialysis Catheters, Chest Tubes, Bronchoscopes, Intubation/Extubation, etc.
