Colon and Rectal Surgery Physician Job with First Physicians Group in Sarasota, FL

First Physicians Group of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System  is seeking to employ a BE/BC Colorectal Surgeon to further develop a rapidly expanding service line in Sarasota, Florida.

Physician will join an internationally recognized colorectal surgeon in developing a premier service line.  You will have exposure with inpatient and outpatient care. The spectrum of operative procedures will include advanced minimally invasive procedures (laparoscopic, robotic – Xi & SP, single incision, natural orifice – NOTES) utilizing cutting edge technology. The focus will be on outstanding outcomes.

Highlights of the opportunity:

• On staff at one hospital – Sarasota Memorial Hospital (SMH)
• 2-4 years of experience preferred with full spectrum Colon & Rectal care
• No General Surgery call required
• Office is equipped with a procedure room, flex sigmoidoscopy setup and proctoscopy
• New physician will have APP support to assist with surgery, office visits, consults, and discharge summaries, among many other duties.
• Seven DaVinci robots - Xi technology and one SP with integrated tables
• Opportunities are available to develop research and educational/training programs with Cancer Center support
• We are affiliated with Florida State University. We are starting a Fellowship Council with GI Oncology next July.
• We are NAPRC verified and COC verified
• Hospital has a new anal manometry lab

Required Qualifications:

• MD or DO from an accredited school of medicine
• Board Certified preferred; Board Eligible will be considered
• Active Florida license or eligible for a FL license
• Ability to demonstrate teamwork, facilitation, planning, and communication skills
