Orthopaedic Surgery - Trauma Physician Assistant Job with First Physicians Group in Sarasota, FL

First Physicians Group of Sarasota Memorial Healthcare System is seeking a Certified Physician Assistant for a busy Orthopedic Trauma group that provides expert surgical and non-surgical care for patients with traumatic extremity and pelvis injuries.  Outside of the work performed for the general Trauma Program, the Orthopedic Trauma Service is also directly available for consultation by the Emergency Department, Primary Care Physicians, and by other Orthopedic Surgeons.

Responsibilities:

• Consults
• Hospital rounds – one hospital only!
• Clinic - basic post-op care
• Surgical assist
• Call 1:4
• Available for weekend rounds

Requirements: 

• Orthopedic Training
• Trauma experience preferred but not required.
• 2 years’ experience in Orthopedics preferred.
• Ability to work independently.
• Attention to detail.
• Report to Attending Physician
• Current NCCPA Certification required and must also have active or be eligible for licensure  by the State of Florida (Department of Health, Medical Quality Assurance section).  BLS required,  ACLS certification preferred.
• Must be flexible with scheduling.
