The main campus is located in Daytona Beach with 678 licensed beds, there is an 80-bed community hospital; Halifax Health Medical Center of Port Orange and a new 90-bed hospital; Halifax Health | UF Health Medical Center of Deltona which opened in February 2020. Halifax Health has over 500 physicians on its Medical Staff representing more than 46 medical specialties.   

Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Florida, is currently seeking a Family Medicine / Emergency Medicine  physician to serve as the University physician for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. This position is 6.5 hours per week requiring the physician to work one day weekly in the Health Services Department on the Daytona Beach campus.   This position reports directly to the Director of Health Services at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University on the Daytona Beach campus. The campus serves as a walk-in clinic for all faculty, students and staff and provides quality services to roughly 7,500 students and 2,000 staff and faculty. The clinic serves about 100-220 students, faculty and staff per day.   The physician will oversee a full-time physician assistant. There is also a nurse practitioner on site along with multiple clinical and non-clinical support staff.  Job responsibilities include overseeing a mid-level provider, serving students, faculty and staff, and documenting in an electronic medical record system.

Job Details/Qualifications: 

  • Currently employed by Halifax Health (Internal candidates only)
  • Strong clinical skills and exceptional customer service to a diverse population
  • Interest/experience in College Health preferred
  • Strong GYN skills preferred
  • Knowledge regarding PREP services and hormone replacement therapy
  • Resource for our Emergency Response Team on campus
  • Must be Board Certified/Board Eligible within specialty  
  • Must hold US citizenship or permanent residency
  • Must obtain a Florida license
  • Physician Governance Council allows for physician input into strategic planning and operational policies for the employed physician group
