Carilion Clinic is searching for a third Pediatric Endocrinologist for Carilion Clinic Children's Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia which serves as the tertiary referral center for 185,000 children in southwestern Virginia and provides a full range of pediatric services including Level 1 Trauma Pediatric ER, but excluding ECMO, open heart and transplants. The hospital includes an 8-bed PICU, a 27-bed inpatient unit and a 60-bed NICU/intermediate nursing and is part of Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, an 703-bed teaching/tertiary, Level 1 trauma center, that servesover 1 million in southwestern Virginia.
Join an established practice with twootherpediatric endocrinologists providing outpatient careand inpatient consultations for patients on the pediatric hospitalist servicewith the support ofthe Pediatric Hospitalists and Intensivist Services Program and working closely with CDEs from Carilion Diabetes Management, an active and growing ADA accredited program. Other hospital based pediatric physicians include: General Pediatrics, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Pulmonary, Neonatology, Surgery, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Hematology & Oncology, Psychiatry, Allergy, and Developmental Pediatrics. The Roanoke Valley features a cohesive pediatric community with more than 20 pediatricians in private practice. Pediatric specialists in private practice include rheumatology, ophthalmology, and anesthesiology support.
Candidates must be ABMS/AOA Board Certified in Pediatrics and fellowship trained in Pediatric Endrocrinology. Candidates must also possess interest and enthusiasm for clinical service and teaching pediatric residents and medical students. Research activity isencouraged and supported at the new Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine & Research Institute, which recently graduated it's inaugrual class of 2010.
