Mercy Clinic – Joplin Trauma Surgery is recruiting a second surgeon to join our group in Joplin, MO. General surgeons with level II trauma experience are encouraged to apply. This position is to join one experienced trauma surgeon and four general surgeons.
The group practices at Mercy Hospital - Joplin, a three year old 240-bed facility which is a state verified Level II Trauma Center. The hospital sees approximately 40,000 patients in the ED and admits approximately 800 trauma patients per year. The Trauma service serves a population of 500K lives. A full range of medical services and specialty support are provided at the hospital.
The medical staff and administration are extremely supportive of the trauma service and are committed to providing exceptional trauma and surgical critical care. The typical group rotation is one week on and one week off. The week that you are on will be three days of primary care followed by two days of back-up call and then two days of primary.
The hospital has 6 trauma bays, 11 ORs and offers a full scope of trauma and surgical equipment. We are staffed with 6 anesthesiologists and 18 CRNAs. You will work very closely with the general surgeons who do the elective cases for the hospital.
