Pulmonary Critical Care Specialist

Bon Secours Pulmonary Specialists is looking for a Pulmonary Critical Care, Sleep Medicine physician to join our busy, well established practice in Chesapeake and Norfolk, Virginia.

Job Description:
See patients at both Maryview and DePaul Medical Centers
Provider will cover Intensivist and Pulmonary services to include all pulmonary procedures for cancer diagnosis and care of inpatient and outpatient Pulmonary diseases, sleep disorders and improve access to much needed GAP in services for Chronic diseases. Improve wait time for appointments. Call is 1:4. Physician will cover ICU, Pulmonary Calls, Telemedicine services and cross coverage with current group for two hospitals. Night and weekend call per schedule. Average daily rounding census is 15-17. Hospital admits patients to ICU which is a closed unit. 17 beds at MMC and 8 at DePaul. Telemedicine responsibilities including E-Visits, Monitoring, consults and rounding. Other expectations include Sleep Study interpretation, management of multidisciplinary team and providing comprehensive patient care. This will be a quick ramp up and physician should have a full schedule in three to four months. There are opportunities to teach Residents and Medical Students.

Required procedures are:
Bronchoscopy, EBUS
Central lines
Arterial lines
Intubation
Dialysis catheter placement
Thoracocentesis
Chest tubes (pig tails)
Ultrasound use proficiency

Requirements:
MD/DO
Board Certified Pulmonology and Critical Care Medicine
BC/BE Sleep Medicine
