Tufts Medical Center Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking a full-time Associate Director of Transfusion Medicine with interest in immunohematology and apheresis. The candidate must have an MD/DO degree be Board Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, Clinical Pathology, or Internal Medicine, with additional Board Certification/eligibility in Transfusion Medicine. Candidates with ASHI certification or experience in HLA/histocompatibility, hematopathology or another pathology/lab medicine discipline are particularly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities of the position include coverage of the in-patient and out-patient transfusion and apheresis services, and involvement in the collection, cryopreservation and issuance of hematopoietic stem cell products. Additional responsibilities could include coverage for the HLA laboratory or hematopathology service depending on training qualifications.
In addition to board certification, the candidate must qualify for a faculty appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine and participation in resident and medical student teaching and clinical research is expected.
