We provide over 75 specialty and sub-specialty services, including neurosurgery, heart and vascular care, cancer care, plastic and reconstructive surgery, da Vinci robotic surgery and much more.

In January, 2019, we opened a $505 million dollar specialty referral hospital at Riverside Blvd. and I-90 in Rockford. This campus features a women’s and children’s hospital with neonatal and pediatric intensive care, pediatric emergency services and high risk maternity care. It also offers 188 private medical/surgical, ICU, pediatrics and obstetrics rooms, a level 1 trauma center, operating suites, comprehensive diagnostic services, a variety of specialty care services, and comprehensive heart services.

Mercyhealth is the only state-designated children’s hospital in the northern Illinois region. Mercyhealth earned this designation from the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (IDHFS) because of the wide spectrum of children’s services it provides through its State of Illinois-designated Regional Perinatal Center, Level III (highest level) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Small Baby Unit, Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, Pediatric Critical Care Center, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and the over 50 pediatric physicians who provide care in 26 different pediatric subspecialties.
