Oncology - Breast Physician Job with Dignity Health in Arizona

Seeking a Staff Physician for our Breast Medical Oncology Program

Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center is seeking a board certified/board eligible medical oncologist to join our multidisciplinary Breast Oncology Program.  Our goal is to create and sustain a best-in-class cancer treatment and clinical research program that produces good outcomes for patients, is efficient and effective, respects and includes our community partners and creates a desirable workplace for staff and faculty.  The Breast Program is one of eight  active multidisciplinary disease teams, each including medical, surgical, Hematology, radiation, radiology, pathology, genetic counselors, nurse navigators, and supportive care experts.  Additionally, we are expanding our Cellular Therapy Program.    Building a robust clinical practice, providing direct patient care, and participating in the clinical research program are key responsibilities of this position.  The multidisciplinary teams work closely with  Cancer Institute  leadership to ensure  growth of the patient care programs as well as the  growth of the translational and clinical trials programs.   Dignity Health St. Joseph’s and Creighton University are collaborating to build a health sciences academic program, including a medical school, in Phoenix.  Our employed oncologists will participate in student and resident teaching and can apply for faculty appointments.   

This physician works collaboratively and effectively with the disease-site oncology multidisciplinary teams, inpatient hospitalists, the VP Oncology Services and administrative team members, and all other staff who support cancer patients and cancer services in the outpatient and inpatient settings. 

Requirements:

• M.D. or D.O.
• AZ Medical License (or ability to obtain)
• American Board certified in Oncology
• Willing to participate in teaching and research activities
• Acceptable references from supervisor, peer, subordinate and a registered nurse
• Willing to abide by and promote the mission and values of Dignity Health and CommonSpirit Health.
