Memorial Health University Medical Center (MHUMC) in beautiful and historic Savannah, GA is seeking a full time academic Internal Medicine attending physician in our tertiary care facility and level 1 trauma center.
MHUMC has a history of training residents in IM for over 50 years. Our new faculty member will work approximately 50% on the inpatient wards and approximately 50% in the ambulatory IM clinic. Our program is excited to start utilizing a novel ABC resident scheduling system starting in the Academic Year 2020-2021. The health system is on Epic Systems Electronic Health Records – the number 1 KLAS rated electronic health record in the country. We train 12 categorical residents a year with an additional four preliminary residents per year. The incoming candidate will have ample opportunities for professional development with research, point of care ultrasound and teaching.
The Savannah campus of Mercer University School of Medicine sits just yards away from MHUMC’s main facility. We provide faculty appointment to Mercer’s state of the art, 4-year medical school that graduates 60 students per year.
Together, MHUMC and Mercer, offer an innovative 3-year Internal Medicine Medical School Accelerated Track program for Mercer medical students who commit to IM at MHUMC at the beginning of their schooling. Our faculty also teach Physician Assistant Students from South University as well as occasional Pharmacy and NP students.
