Position:   Gastroenterologist

Location:  Quincy, Illinois (population 50,000)

Employer:  Blessing Physician Services, part of the Blessing Health System (BHS)

Compensation:  Base salary exceeds the MGMA median, and all physicians are eligible for a productivity incentive bonus plan based on work production as measured by WRVU’s.  Incentive quality bonus is also possible.  A forgivable loan for educational debt will be considered.  Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance included.

Situation:  Blessing Physician Services is a 150+ provider, multi-specialty group affiliated with the not-for-profit Blessing Hospital, the largest medical provider serving a 300,000 population region composed of West Central Illinois, Northeast Missouri, and Southeast Iowa.  The System operates Blessing Hospital, a 337-bed regional referral center in Quincy, Illinois, (population 50,000) and Illini Community Hospital, a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital in Pittsfield, Illinois, (population 4,300).  Hannibal Clinic, a 60+ provider multi-specialty group in Hannibal, Missouri is also part ofBHS.  We also provide services contractually to a number of smaller healthcare organizations in the region.

The practice currently has two physician and a nurse practitioner.  One physician will be reloating to be closer to parents so we need an additional physician.  You can enjoy a great balance between professional and family life.  The GI’s currently in the community share hospital call.  Enjoy the substantial referral volume generated by our primary care physicians.  As a not-for-profit health system, we accept all patients regardless of economic condition or insurance coverage.  The right physicians will step into an established practice.  The group is housed in a newer 140,000 sq. ft. clinic building connected by air bridge to the main hospital, offering maximum convenience and efficiency.  A new surgery center / GI center is being constructed on the campus.  Board Certification is an expectation of all our physicians (BE if recently out of training).
