Functional Neurosurgery Opportunity at UPMC Pinnacle

UPMC Pinnacle (Harrisburg based) is accepting BE/BC functional neurosurgery candidates to join our comprehensive and growing neurosurgery program. UPMC Pinnacle is listed by Healthgrades as one of the 100 best hospitals for neurosurgery in 2021.

Desired Candidate: 

  • ABNS BE/BC in Neurosurgery
  • Fellowship training in Functional Neurosurgery preferred
  • Interest in both Epilepsy and DBS required but willing to support general neurosurgery patients/surgeries
  • The newly recruited neurosurgeon must have the qualifications and interest to assist in the development of the functional neurosurgery program
  • Willing to develop/assist in outreach practices needed to support the surgical hub
  • Willing to provide education to Advanced Practice Provider (APPs), the medical community, referral sources, and the public, as requested
  • Team-oriented with the ability to provide personalized patient care and demonstrate clinical outcomes
  • Equal call rotations with colleagues and APP support
  • Committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients

  • A collaborative relationship with UPMC Neurosurgery (Pittsburgh based) including academic conferences, operational and administrative support for program development, vendor/equipment relationships
  • Full equipment and support to develop a functional neurosurgery practice including an EMU, epileptologists, and movement disorders specialists
