Albany Medical College is in search of a Chief to lead our growing academic cardiothoracic surgery practice. We are seeking a clinical surgeon with an interest in teaching our ACGME-approved thoracic surgery residents along with general surgery residents and medical students.      Albany Med offers an environment of academic inquiry with both clinical and basic science research opportunities, as well as excellent patient care, cutting-edge technology and minimally invasive approaches, clinical or basic research support. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational, academic, clinical, and educational activities of the Division.  Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with experience.

We have a population base including 11 counties in our region including VT and MA.  This supports our very active structural heart (over 1000 TAVR’s to date), aortic, coronary artery bypass, valvular repair and replacement, and minimally invasive surgical programs.  We also have an expanding ECMO program along with a robust practice in general thoracic surgery, including robotic, VATS, and minimally invasive pulmonary and foregut surgery.   The Division is composed of three sections: Adult Cardiac, General Thoracic and Congenital.
