ABOUT THE POSITION
The Department of Pathology at the University of Louisville is experiencing a robust phase of growth and expansion and is seeking a full-time Surgical Pathologist with expertise in women's health, particularly in breast pathology. The candidates should have a strong interest in promoting the academic mission including maintaining scholarly activities and participating in graduate and undergraduate medical education. Applicants should have a breast pathology fellowship or a strong and proven interest in breast pathology. The position requires some general surgical pathology signout; therefore, interest in other areas like gynecologic, thoracic, or dermatologic pathology is highly desirable but not required.
A track record of publications demonstrating clinical and scientific accomplishments is desirable. The selected candidate will be part of a leading multidisciplinary breast cancer team at the University of Louisville Hospital, Jewish Hospital and the Brown Cancer Center. The applicants should be board certified in anatomic or combined anatomic and clinical pathology and be qualified for an unrestricted medical license in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The academic rank, tenure and salary will be based upon level of qualifications, experience, and scholarly accomplishments.
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is supported by several state-of-the-art research and diagnostic laboratories, including strong core instrument facilities with modern molecular diagnostics capabilities.
