Rheumatology Faculty Position
The Division of Rheumatology at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University seeks additional faculty at the Assistant/Associate/Professor level. The successful applicant will focus on clinical care, clinical research and educational efforts of the Division.
The clinical programs of the Division are diverse and include all aspects of connective tissue disorders and metabolic bone disease. There exist multiple opportunities to develop additional disease-focused programs. There is a successful fellowship program and cutting edge teaching methodologies are employed for medical students and residents. Protected time and support for research is available for the interested candidate.
Medical College of Georgia is Georgia’s only state-supported medical school. Established in 1828, it is one of the 10 largest medical schools. This position is based at the main campus in Augusta, Georgia. Augusta is Georgia’s second largest city and is home to the Masters Golf Tournament and Ironman 70.3 competition. The city hosts urban living with a variety of restaurants, play houses, concerts, a newly renovated symphony hall and soon to open minor league baseball venue. Cost of living is low and lifestyle includes many opportunities for outdoor activities including equestrian, golf, fishing, kayaking, and miles of cycling and running paths. Augusta is located in proximity to Atlanta, Charlotte, Charleston, and Savannah as well as the seacoast and mountains.
Interested candidates will hold MD, DO or MD/PhD and be board eligible/certified. Salary is competitive, commensurate with experience and includes an incentive plan that rewards clinical productivity and research funding success.
