Children's Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock (CHaD) seek a board-certified or eligible pediatrician or advanced practice provider (APP) to join its medical staff. The provider primary role will be to support ChaD in fulfilling a nursery services agreement with Brattleboro Memorial Hospital Birthing Center in Vermont. The provider will provide weekend services to include daily assessments of well newborns and will attend high-risk deliveries. Requirements include advanced practice registered nurse (APRN), or physician assistant (PA) licensure or eligibility in New Hampshire and Vermont, with experience in the care of well neonates and neonatal resuscitation and initial stabilization. Board certification or eligibility is also required. CHaD is the pediatric service of Dartmouth-Hitchcock (D-H), an integrated academic healthcare delivery system for northern New England, anchored in Lebanon, New Hampshire at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC), recognized by US News & World Report as the Best Hospital in NH. CHaD maintains an inpatient pediatric unit with PICU and a level III NICU at DHMC and a comprehensive ambulatory specialty center at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Clinic in Manchester, the largest city in the state. Brattleboro Memorial Hospital is a 61-bed, not-for-profit community hospital located in southeastern Vermont, serving a rural population of about 55,000 people in southern Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. The Birthing Center at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital is an integrated LDRP model, with 320 deliveries annually provided by physicians, midwives, and skilled nurses. There is a dedicated OR for OB emergencies. The Birthing Center prides itself on offering family centered care, with family friendly surgical birth practices and low-risk VBAC. The Center includes a Level I Nursery, with referral to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center Intensive Care Nursery in Lebanon, NH. This position is a weekend-only, nursery rounding and on-call position. The provider must be able to respond to deliveries at BMH within twenty minutes, and will be available from Friday at 5:00 p.m. to Monday at 8:00 a.m. It will include inpatient rounding on Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings for well-babies. Lodging is provided by BMH if needed. The position is being offered as a part- time position. As an employee of D-H, the candidate will have access to the expertise of the full neonatology team at ChaD via telemedicine, while maintaining significant autonomy in practice. Required Licensure/Certification Skills:
- Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program required.
- Masters level of education required.
- Prior experience in a level III ICN as a staff RN or nurse practitioner preferred.
- Eligible for NH and VT licensure as a nurse practitioner.
- Specialty certification required.
- Eligible for DEA number.
- Successful completion of Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required.
- Certifications must be maintained in accordance with applicable department requirements.
